Kerry O. Furlani is a sculptor with a studio based in Poultney, Vermont. She is known for her expressive carvings of incised and burgeoning forms. Furlani gives life to her work using mallets and chisels, traditional methods introduced to her while training at the Frink School of Figurative Sculpture, in England, in the late 90s.

Since 2001, the sculptor has exhibited a growing body of slate work (wall panels, benches, tables) at various galleries and museums throughout the region. Her slate-wood furniture collaborations are featured in Lark design series publications: 500 Tables and Lark Studio Series: Table. In recent years, she has returned to her roots working in-the-round using traditional materials of wood, plaster and dimensional stones. “My passion for form, my acute sensitivity to touch, and my love of engaging with hand tools and natural materials, has led me to this life as a sculptor.” In 2018,  Furlani received a creation grant from Frog Hollow to support a new body of standing female figures in wood. In 2020 the sculptor received a development grant from Vermont Arts Council in support of a new body of sculptures in plaster.

Furlanis commission work includes commemorative and architectural pieces for public and private spaces, cathedrals and cemeteries, and private collections. Public projects  have included two standing stone inscriptions in Poultney, Vt, (supported by the Vermont Arts Council), a memorial plaque at Otter Creek Falls in Middlebury and a public bench at Middlebury's new park, and a marble baptismal font for the cathedral at St. Georges School in Newport, RI.
